Wednesdays @ City View is a new opportunity for you to sign up for a class that will help you grow in your Christian faith this summer.  Join us on Wednesday nights 6:30pm-8:00pm beginning May 3rd and going through the end of July.  We will be offering two six-week sessions.  Some classes will extend through both sessions, while some are only six weeks, and will be offered only during the first or second session.  Information on the first session classes are below, with an opportunity to sign up to follow.  For questions, email jon@cityview.org.

“The Art of Marriage” – 6 Weeks – Will & Nikki Gott

The Art of Marriage is a Lifeway video and workbook curriculum for married couples to take together.  Each week, there will be a clip for participants to watch and discuss together and then you will be encouraged to do some homework during the week that will facilitate growth in your marriage.  This curriculum is designed to help couples discover the primary purpose of marriage, as well as their roles in the marriage.  It will also tackle the topics of conflict resolution, the purpose of sex, leaving a Godly legacy, and more!

“The Call to Follow Christ” – 6 Weeks – John & Kristi Horn

The Call to Follow Christ is a foundational discipleship study that will be a tremendous help to both new and growing believers when it comes to understanding and implementing the most important disciplines of the Christian faith.  It will not be lecture style, but centered on healthy discussion about following Christ facilitated by John and Kristi Horn.  Participants will study six disciplines in six weeks that will help to ground them in healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

“Jesus on Trial” – 12 Weeks – Les Acree

Jesus on Trial is an introduction to apologetics course led by Les Acree, adapted from David Limbaugh’s book “Jesus on Trial.”  Do you ever wonder if Christians have any hard evidence that supports the faith we hold and the Bible we depend upon?  Questions are encouraged in this study and looking at all of the evidence will lead to the sure conclusion: that what Christians have treasured for centuries stands up to exhaustive inquiry, and thereby affirms Christian faith, spirituality, and tradition.

“Hades’ Gates Won’t Prevail” – 12 Weeks – Duston Moore

“Hades’ Gates Won’t Prevail” is an introductory and birds-eye-view study of church history led by Duston Moore, based on Capitol Hill’s core seminar course on the subject.  Some see a disconnect between the Christian Church of today and the church we read about in the Bible.  But if you trace the history of the church from the very beginning, you will see how God has always been faithful to preserve his church through its many ups and downs.  Journey with us from the church’s beginning in Acts all the way to it’s present day form in twelve sessions.

Know What you Believe – 6 Sessions – Ron Tyndale & Gary Mullenix

“Know What You Believe” is a very basic introduction to Christian theology led by Ron and Gary, adapted from Paul Little’s book with the same title.  What does the Christian faith teach about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit?  What do I need to know about angels, Satan and demons?  What place should the Bible or a church have in my life?  By exploring these and other core questions, this discussion will lead you into a greater appreciation of a God who has done great things to bring you into a relationship with him through Jesus Christ.
